Staying safe

Pickfall is for everyone 13 and up. Most players are here to mine and have fun. This page is about the few who aren't, and what to do about them.

If someone makes you uncomfortable

  • Report them. Type /report <their name> in game, or use the report form. In game, staff also see what was said in chat before you reported. They never tell the other player who reported them.
  • Stop replying and block them. Type /ignore <their name> and you won't see their chat or get their private messages. They aren't told. If they keep bothering you, report them and staff can mute or ban them.
  • Tell an adult you trust, like a parent, carer or teacher. You won't be in trouble for telling.

Private messages

  • Anyone online can send you a private message with /msg. If you don't want them, type /msgtoggle (or use the toggle in the Online menu) and only staff can message you.
  • Private messages are not secret from staff. Staff can read them to keep players safe, and they're deleted after 30 days.
  • The same rules apply as in public chat. You can report a private message the same way, and staff see it with your report.

Gang invites

  • Nobody can put you in a gang. An invite only works if you click it, and it runs out after 24 hours.
  • You can leave a gang any time with /gang leave.
  • Gang chat is still Pickfall chat: the same rules apply, and you can report it the same way.

Keep your details to yourself

Never share these with anyone you meet in a game, even if they seem friendly or say they're your age:

  • your real name, address, school, or phone number;
  • photos or videos of yourself;
  • your passwords, or the link /link gives you. Staff will never ask for them.

Be careful if someone wants to talk somewhere else

Watch out for anyone who asks you to move to another app, Discord DMs or a private chat, or to keep a secret, or who offers you free ranks, gems or items for doing something. That's how people who want to harm young players often start. Don't go, and report them as child safety or grooming: staff look at those first.

If someone shares, or threatens to share, a nude or sexual picture of you, it's not your fault. Don't pay or send anything. Report it on the report form and we deal with it within 48 hours. If you're under 18, the services below can help get it taken down everywhere.

Where to get help

These are free and private. You don't need to give your name.

  • Childline (UK, under 19): call 0800 1111 or chat at childline.org.uk. Its Report Remove tool helps take down nude images of under-18s.
  • CEOP (UK police): if an adult is talking to you in a sexual way or asking to meet, report it at ceop.police.uk.
  • NCMEC (US): report online exploitation at report.cybertip.org, and get nude images of under-18s taken down with Take It Down.
  • Feeling low or thinking about hurting yourself? In the UK, call Samaritans on 116 123, any time. In the US, call or text 988.

The rules say what isn't allowed, and the moderation policy says how staff deal with it.
